Inspired by Bridgerton Season 4 —
a letter poem about recognition, longing
and a love worth fighting for.
All my life,
I seemed
to be different.
My sensitivity
was divided,
and never found
its voice.
I kept my distance
from the emotional vastness
of my own heart.
Then I saw you,
and everything
I thought I knew
fell silent.
Every word.
Every glance.
Your face.
Your grace.
You seemed
to see straight through me,
to understand me,
as if you had looked
directly into my soul.
All my life,
I felt out of place.
But near you,
nothing unsettles me anymore.
I am home
in every breath you take.
As if my heart
has finally arrived.
My soul is laid bare.
I am completely undone.
I expected many things,
but never
true love.
I fell for you
from the very first moment.
My mind
did not recognise you,
but my heart knew
from the beginning.
I love you.
I love you.
And I can do
nothing else
but give up everything
for a life
that makes my heart
burn with joy.
There is
an inextinguishable fire
in me
for your love.
I see who you truly are.
And you love me
as I am.
Norms lose all meaning
when they break hearts
and leave us shattered.
I cannot bear
that you would leave me
out of love.
But I will protect you
out of love.
It is a battle
between the heart
and convention.
But I will fight
until the heart prevails.
Because I love you.
And all I want
is your love.
Is you.
I want to dance
across the floor of life
with you by my side.
The heart knows
what it wants.
And I am no longer willing
to let our souls break
simply because
we do not fit the norm.
I want to lay down
the masks.
I want the performance
to end.
I want love.
My world rests
in your hands.
And I will leave
nothing undone
to find my way
to you.
My heart is yours.
I want to be with you.
Forever.
Because it is love.
Because you are love.
Because you are
everything to me.
